Apparently, you have done some research.
Why don't you tell us what you have found so far :-)

I'm guessing that it is used with no hooks and just to see if there's fish or may be to just see if they're biting. I might be wrong, but let's see what others got to say about it....

the above is part of a lure called buzzbait.. although in this case it is a spinner blade attachement, as opposed to the regular propeller shapped blade that creates splash.. the ther part of the lure is a rubber skirt..this kind of lure is used by bassfishermen in the u.s.

Hi,

I'm shah from Malaysia, based in Chennai. I believe the same spinner used on the attached link (sorry admin, am no part of the marketting of the product but i cant find a photo to upload for the discussion)

http://www.dhgate.com/product/40pcs-by- ... 29348.html

The same spinner bait being used by malaysian, thailand and southeast asian freshwater anglers to catch the snakeheads (Haruan or Toman in local language) , it is very effective for predatory fish and mainly use at waters covers with weeds and underwater growth.. The one with you might be just the incomplete sets, my guess...

I hope that explain your doubt[/img]

Hi Vivek

This lure is used more common in US for Bass fishing.
Please check this site 'wired2fish' dot com.
There is an in depth review on how to use this jig with modification.
under the caption
"November 14th, 2012 - Why Your Fishing Lure’s Profile is Wrong".

Hope this helps

Kiran
