Dear Friends,
Please can u Identify this fish.
It looks sam like a Pomfret but white in colour and different fins in comparison with a pomfret.

That fish is a Common Dart Trachinotus botla, sometimes called a sweep incorrectly.

actually it's Small Spotted Dart(Trachinotus baillonii).. used to get both in oman (largespotted dart, Trachinotus botla) ..

they are edible... only i would advise do you know the condition of the water from where it came. also a bigger one would have some more meat on it.

Just saw it on google it is the small spotted dart. Has dark black spots.

Very tasty fish, small prawn over a sandy bottom in the surf is a good way to target dart.,

I throw a small (or a big) prawn, I get a cat fish. I throw a sardine I get a yucky eel :( Kerala coast is damned by these! Wish i get a job transfer to Konkan area :(

The truth is even I face the sam problem here. CAtfishes seems to be following me everywhere. :D

:lol: You are not the only one Ralph even I had my share of these pests :lol: I always leave them on the rocks for the stray dogs, they simply love it :wink:
