Though we do not have a holiday for our Republic day in this part of the world, we decided to celebrate the day, took a day off from office and went on to celebrate the day doing what we like best.

We caught king fish after king fish using plugs and spoons. Decided to keep the first 8 fish for the eight apartments in our building and released endless nos.

When we had a multiple hook up my younger sons 5 kg king got inhaled by a 3 meter shark. It was an awsome sight. We spent a good part of an hour chasing the shark all over the place till the wire leader parted in the end.

WOW Jeen,

I guess those were the only kings remaining in UAE and you found their hide. Keyur I think we should call off the plans for friday as all the kings are in AUH or probably be satisfied with ballyhoo as your biggest catch of this season LOL.

For those of you who dont know we both fish for ballyhoo as live bait and end up only fishing ballyhoo at the end of the day we take them home for next week and the story repeats, we again catch some fresh ballyhoo and come back the next week. This will be the fourth week I guess :(

Nice Kings Jeen. Congrats.

What type of rig were you using? Can’t make out from the third pic if its a spoon or a hook.

Thanks, Santosh

This is Rohit Thomas. We met at munambam. I was in dubai a month ago, but could not find time to go fishing. I need some tips on fishing from a boat off the coast of cochin. Where can I mail you?
