Location: WASI cottage lake.
Date: 30.9.2006
Weight: 18.5 lbs
Tackle: Medium action Rapalla spinning rod, cannot recall the reel but it was a small one and had about 25 yards of 15 lb mono with 10 lb mono backing.

That's a nice Rohu there. It's good to see more of these fish being caught at the WASI lake. One day it'll be Mahseer as well. :D

Prathap just called to say that he landed a 9.5 kg rohu and 3.5 kg cat fish at the same place after we left. He suspects the cat fish is probably an African catfish.

Will post pics when I get them.

Akshay, the mahseer, though small, are getting caught. General caught a couple last week and Prathap caught a 2 kg mahseer on Friday.

Nice fish there. Regarding the african catfish, its a good idea to keep them for the pot and not releae them. Theyre not endemic and I hear that they can take over waterways and eat everything in them...
