[quote="Ken L"]A lot of locals used to be out night after night taking every fish they catch but to be fair they're not been so active in the last year or two. They don't like it at all when a fish gets released........
What's doing the damage is the combination of inshore trawling and the 100m long gill nets pegged out on the beaches and headlands. These things would never survive in the river itself because of the tides but I've seen six of them pegged out on one beach in north goa night after night.
Fish can still be found though if people are willing to invest the time.[/quote
hi KEN its absolutely true im waiting to catch a barramundi for this season but the situations like u mentioned above mostly the trawlers filled with nets in and around goa:evil::evil::evil:
and let me tell you i have been fishing a lot in goa but not a strike of barramundi, gt........etc i am so frustrated !! i was there this month for around a week ,last month, a month before ... etc very disappointed with the situation of Goa. i remember a day when my friends removed 6 barramundi weighing around 10 to 15 kg on a beautiful full moon night .. well those days are just not coming back or i can say its my bad luck ..
but i heard a good news this week , about a river in goa which is active with barramundi a decent size around 5- 8 kg .. god willing , will surely be fishing in goa soon.

but one thing if for sure just cant predict , dunno which day will be a jackpot..
