Hi Guys

Today it is a different experience to show how luck plays during fishing. Today I was alone went to fishing in our regular jetty. It was 5:30 am when started casting. When I was casting my fourth time I had a strike but it was not hook properly and i missed that one. In next cast again I had strike and it was running much close to rock so i was forced to increase the reel drag and hold the fish in one spot then i was seeing in around for people who can help me to land the fish from the slippery rock. Since no one is there to help i was slowly walking down to lift the fish along with my rod and reel. When i was almost there to take the fish i was slipped of from the rock and straight away landed over the fish and fish got snapped of from my from my 40lb mono and trying to escape along with my lure . When that fish was trying to escape lure was entangle in the net near my rock. Then i slowly catch hold of that one and move it to my tackle box area. It was amazing for when fish got snapped and stuck in scrap fishing net.

A very nice fish there. Take care while landing a fish with lure in its mouth. It can be very dangerous.

Congratulations on hooking a fish, loosing it and then again find it through sheer luck. :P

Please re size the pictures before posting it. It take lot of time and efforts to re size again.

Regards,

Ali. :P

Good catch Buddy.

Those rocks are dangerous. Never go alone hereafter.

My sincere advice.

Tight Lines.

Congrats Bhaskar on the catch. Very nice fish !! You are very lucky that nothing bad happened. Those rock on edges always looked dangerous to me and never was I comfortable standing on the wet rocks, let alone trying to land a fish !! Congrats once again to you on the catch. Regards to Prabhakar!

It is only a matter of time before one of our fraternity is lost forever to the sea because of rock fishing.Consider the following:

1. They fish alone and do not have others alongside who could extricate
them from a life threatening situation.

2. They do not have the proper equipment for fishing from rocks, namely
nonskid shoes, lifevest and a whistle or other device for signalling if
in distress.

3. They are totally unaware of the risks.

My question is "how do we educate our brethren of the dangers of
rock fishing in India"?.

Any suggestions?
