Well I am certain most of you will find the title a bit funny looking at the fish LOL. Well it took more than a year to land a decent size fish. Since the open season starting October 10 This is one fish that I could actually report on :)
It was a lovely morning with what seemed to be like a full tide. Me and Keyur like every Friday did not expect much but as Keyur mentioned someone had lost a big size Cobia a week before thought would try the location and if luck land a few puffers or Croackers
Three lines cast with ballyhoo on one and the other 2 on sardine. it wasn't long when i was about to get my other rod ready the rod took a good bend and that sight triggered the adrenaline in me. Ran to the ROD pulled it back off the rod holder and STRIKE! Felt like some small fish which took a few runs and went sluggish and it appeared like a croacker to me and amidst this commotion Keyur's rod took a bend and he thought it was me reeling in his line but i was certain about it. He reeled in a trevally of decent size without much resistance. As for me I thought I was reeling in a dead meat and was more interested in what keyur had landed and when I was almost done reeling in did not notice a good size spangled emperor on the other end. It was one big of a kind i have landed. Later part of the day one Filipino landed a big diamond trevally and Keyur landed 2 big catfishes which were safety released back. unfortunately one one pic available as we did not bother to click pics of the Trevally.
Guess where our next weekend trip will be @???
