Me and my friend Ahmed both learners have been trying our luck for past couple of weeks to land the monster of Manori, marve and madh.
Have spent hours food less and slipping on the rocks.
In fact Sanju, Ahmed and me tried offshore fishing too but no luck.
Finally the day arrived on this Tuesday when Ahmed decided to fish alone on the rocks in the heavy rain. After fifteen casts he got a strong pull on his line and the rod bent like a rainbow. The reel started screaming he knew he was on to something big. He was on a light tackle and dint want to loose the fish. He played it for 45min and the fish was not ready to land one of the local kholi man helped him to play the fish.
After 1.5hrs of battle the fish was landed it was a 8.5kg BARRAMUNDI.
This clearly indicates fishes are there however the eagerness to land one has faded off and we say there are no fishes around Mumbai shore line.

The fish was so huge that it would have not fitted in his freezer.
He took the fish to a local fisherman and placed it in the ice filled crate and it was not fitting in the crate too.

He he. Don't call your friend, aka Ahmed, a beginner. He has caught some of the most beautiful salty fishes, namely barramundi and Rawas. I have spent countless hours in Manori trying to catch these elusive fishes (used to carry theplas and methi papri for lunch). To the level of getting (almost permanently) tanned to the shape of my fishing clothes and sandles. I went to a popular saloon once and they told me my skin was like one of the most damaged ones they had seen. Ha ha. After all that effort, I am yet to land one of either.
About you, you will soon land one on your home made lure.
Congrats to Ahmed (and yes, he is no ordinary guy. He came fishing on the 3rd day of malaria and kept on fishing after we were gone) on independance day 2010.

Congrats on your catch raj. I'm yet to hook one.

After 1.5hrs of battle the fish was landed it was a 8.5kg BARRAMUNDI.

Am surprised, does this 1.5hour battle includes your to and fro travel.

Just kidding RAJ, Chill.

I wish you more catches and tight lines.
