Everyone is thinking that Chennai is silent. No silently there has been some activities. Especially during the past 3 months our group had been into intensive offshore fishing and caught around 15 GTs.
Prithivraj has been our groups mentor and a wonderful teacher. want to see a sample picture?

Hello Robert are you one of the guys who went on fiber boat and caught 4 Big GTs with poppers near sunken cement ship last week. I saw you guys land 4 big GTs on fishing harbour jetty and was seriously surprised by their size. Next time do take me with you guys i love to see those huge GTs run.

From fishing harbour the wreck is around 3 Kms or 20 minutes to 30 minutes by fiber boat. Most fishermen in fishing harbour recommend that spot because of its huge resource of big fishes. It has Groupers, large snappers, GTs, Barramundi's and lot more.

Right gear and bait will catch right fish. I have used live prawns on that spot.

Depth exceeds 50 feet in spots around the wreck. You can actually see the top of the mast popping out of water and its visible even from fishing harbour jetties.

Thanks all your guys for your appreciation which encourages us more. Thanks to Prithivraj for his commitment to teach us and he has done it well not only theoretically but also practically, how to go fishing.
I am sorry i should have posted this in Boat Fishing but did it in Shore fishing. Can Bopanna transfer it to Boat Fishing. My friend David has posted the same information in Boat Fishing Forum.

Cheers

Congratulations on the catch, but a real pity to have killed these beautiful fish.
These GTs are amongst the finest game fish that are available and are generally residents.
While they do provide great sport, think you all will be served well to catch and release them so that they can give you and your friends many more sporting moments and also live to breed.
They are so well muscled that this size would have been bad eating,so guys, dont massacre the GT, enjoy the sport with barbless hooks and release the GT to enjoy your fishing another day.

Hi All,

Thanks for all your comments. We will surely practice catch and release on our every catch.

Well this was landed using local fishermen boat. They really go crazy when we release the fish.

We have a sporting boat now, All the catches will be released now on.

For all anglers, please consider this as formal invitation. We now have a proper sporting boat for chartered trips exclusive for fishing.

All are welcome. We also wanted to do more fishing activities in chennai which is now lagging even though we have many experienced anglers here.

Few sure catches possible here in chennai are,

GT - Average 15kgs
Barramundi, Barracudas, shear fish, indian tuna, sail fish, sharks, and more.

Anglers, join us to promote angling activites in chennai also.

Thank you,
Salmonmani
