Congrats on your first catch.

Was that from KOVALAM on sunday evening?

We were fishing the other side of the river. I saw you landing the fish i guess. I mean if you are the one fishing near TAJ side.

Great catch man

Keep it up

Salmonmani

Hi  mani..

Yes that was me on the Other Side with Bala..

The equipments that i used :-

shimano 9ft Rod, Daiwa emcast plus 6000 reel, 50lb braided line150 yards, 80lb wireleader, and a popper of 45gms..

i was there for 2 days i had tried fishing the entire day nothing happen on either sides of the river.. on sunday evening around 6.00 i was casting was having a ache on my arm. i though let me do 15more cast,, then all of a sudden there comes a strike ,, it was like a car on the popper. was scared as its my first gt.. handled it well.. had a fight about 2mins.. but the best view at that time is as i was pulling the fish to the shore i saw him going through the waves which will remain im my memories forever..

its was a dream come true i had lots of friends there who congratulated me..

Hari,

Congradulations on your first GT [smilie=ebil-thumbup.gif]

You can also use a 7" Cotton Cordel Redfin swimmer in Chrome with black back colour.
It produces really well in the surf if the fish are feeding, but are not breaking the surface.

Cheers,
Maruthu

I am new to Chennai and GT fishing as well. Are they available from the shore at this time of year also? Can you suggest any spots where I might begin the search? I will be throwing flies...
