hi four of those are some species of grouper or rock fish or rock cod or sea cods to some people, in kerala they are known as kadal karoop, the other two are some sort of bream or pan fish

Good fishes Vincent. Congratulation. In Angling, worthiness of an effort is not measured by end result. What matter is that you try.

Regards,

Ali...

But why midnight.. :?:

I have to work during the day and all day,and can go fishing on weekdays either at dawn or late night only, another thing several world class fishermen in all countries say if dont catch many fish or no fish at all they give several reasons to go thru the checklist and one of them is that you probably are not fishing at night, besides i dont start at midnight, we start sometoime in the night and sometimes it goes on beyond midnight also, just that those fishes were not caught exactly at midnight or anything but between 1 am and 1:45am on that day, weighed a total of 4.25 kg.so guess it was worth it that day.

specially the bigger predatory fishes tend to feed more at night near shore when human activity is at its minimum, doesn't apply for GTs I think.

hey vincent
i agree with you on to that ... but i have no idea about GTs
i have had little luck in catching fishes (whatever that i have managed to catch) either early morning or in the night...
when the sun is up (after 8:00 AM till 5:00PM) there are no bites.... :!: :!: :?:
earlier i used to think that it is only based on tide cycle.... and there will be bites regardless of time of day....
but then in this one year im having a feeling that best results are obtained if the tide timing is matching with dusk and dawn...... :-) :D
at this time the chances of maximum catch in both quantity and weight is expected....

the above said is all for shore fishing as i have no idea about boat fishing
also
i know im not having that much of experience to put the above comment but then experts comment will help alot....
