Hi All, Hope every one of you and your family members are safe. Was going under bit difficult days during these COVID19 lock down, lay off, would like to take a break from this and headed towards to the shore by yesterday evening though it was raining.Sea was clam and beautiful, could see Gt's were chasing the baits schools and some of the gt's started to jump out of the waters, within in 50 to 100 meters of the shore and bit gt's were enjoying bit far away from the shore.

Started casting whit the 30grms halco roster (red and white ) popper and bang got the hit and and the reel started to play its beautiful music, after 10 minutes of fight i mange to land the fish as well my fellow anglers too.

But something wondered me, usually fish activity will be during High to low tide, but yesterday it was past 3 hrs low tide and the activity was so high from the GT's end.

Regards,

Vijayfisher.

Nice GT there Vijay. The sea looks beautiful and calm in the background.

Any barracuda action there these days. I'm hoping to fish Chennai sometime soon if they allow interstate travel.

Stay safe and cheers! Maruthu

Nice catch, Vijay.

The good old Redhead Halco Rooster keeps going strong.

Glad you are able to fish during Covid time, keep it up and send more pictures.

Hi all, after 2 days of rest I planned to go fishing today morning and reached out the fishing spot at 5:45 am, the wind and sea was calm. Couldn't see any gt action, so I have started with the halco 30grms red head popper ,with in couple of castings. Bang the water splashes, where I could see a gt opening it's big mouth and trying to bite the popper all I could see the read head of the popper was pulled inside the water, was a decent fight and finally landed the beauty.

Regards,

VijayFisher.

Hi Maruthu and kingfish, thank you. Maruthu gt have migrated in Chennai waters and we could see the best action of them on the shore side. Even today some of the gts were heading towards the shore chasing behind the bait fishes.

Regards,

Vijayfisher.

Hello Vijay,

You are doing the right thing ...... fishing when the bite is on. I guess the GTs will move on in due course.

Could you tell us what rod/reel/line you are using to catch the hard fighting GTs, for the benefit of members? Thanks.

By the way, my user name is Kingfish ... not Kingfisher!

Kingfish

Hi Binu, hope you and your loving one are safe and your fishing life is going good. For the past one week the sea was bit clam and the water condition was good though it was raining for the couple of days. Mullet are playing the major role as bait.

Expecting your fishing pictures too.

Regards

Vijayfisher.

Hi kingfish, i apologies for mistyping your name.

Usally I use St.corx mojo surf spinning rod 10.6 or Abu gracia bruise fast action 9ft rod for surf casting.

Rod : Abu gracia tournament 9ft heavy action ( heavy back bone and had battled with many gts which got snapped in the jetties but the rod has not got damaged).

Line : Daiwa J 8X 30lbs braid green colour.

Reel : penn sargus 6000 version1.

Leader: 80 lbs monoflament ( precaution if barracudas going to surprise).

Lure : Halco red head 30grams

Tide: high to low

@Vijayfisher, those are some great catches man. Must have been some crazy good fights. I hope these survive to get big-big.

Once the Chinese virus craziness is done with, I have a long pending trip to India and I must often travel to Chennai. May be we can touch base and talk GT fishing.

Keep em coming... Cheers...
