Hi my name's John.
I'm living in Japan.
I came here because of my Japanese lass.
We met in 2001.
We've spent quite a few years apart.
I had to be closer to her so I got a job as a teacher.
Hopefully we'll get married soon.

I love lure fishing, ultra light for chub and perch, big lures 7ft multiplier rods and heavy braid for pike, 9/10ft spinning rods and surface lures for sea bass.

It's all good to me! :D

I brought my 9ft 3pce Greys Greyflex 15~35grm rod from England.
I've caught carp on it to 15lb from the local rivers on bread.

I also bought a lovely ultra light spinning outfit here in Japan.
The rod cost 10,000 yen.
6ft casting weight 0.8~4grms
2~6lb line.

I've had carp to 8lb on it.
Free lined bread.

I've seen all sorts of different animals while fishing the rivers here.
Snakes, terrapins and an alligator snapping turtle.
Very different to Leeds!

All the best to everyone,
YB.

Hi John

Welcome to IA. I'm fairly new to this forum and it's great - very interesting, informative and friendly so enjoy!

I guess Japan is slightly different to Yorkshire in more than just the fishing. How's the culture-shock?

What is the fishing in Japan like and what do you catch? Sea or freshwater?
