A quick hello from a new member. I live in the UK and have enjoyed three fantastic visits to the Cauvery at Galibore Camp. A magical place !! Each trip is always going to be my last but I just keep coming back. I've seen some superb fish caught to 98lb and hope to improve on my pb of 58lb next year.

Most of my UK fishing is for smaller fish but I love travelling and enjoy fishing anywhere warm particularly the Florida Keys and India.

What a great forum - Congratulations to the hard working individuals responsible.

Thanks for the welcome everybody. I'll post some of my photos on the Forum later today. I'll certainly detail some of my experiences (whatever they're worth) for the Forum, particularly some of the changes to the river I've experienced.

My Florida Keys photo album is fairly bare as I tend to use video for those trips but I'll try and upload some of the better stuff. We are going there in June but this time without using any guides. We've rented a boat for the duration and it will be interesting to compare our efforts with the guided results. If you don't hear from me after June you know we sank!! Fishing the Keys is incredibly expensive if you use guides every day so this is definitely a budget trip.

A chap called Andy Hosegood shared two of our trips and he has a big mahseer section on his website http://www.thefishingzone.org which may be of interest to the Forum.

Hi there,

The Lake District, on the most beautiful place in England. Are you a pike fisherman? I've always wanted to go after those massive pike in Windermere.

Hi Ali,

I'm lucky enough to live overlooking Windermere. It is a great venue but not that easy. There have been a few big fish coming out recently and most of the bigger lakes in the area have produced thirty pound plus pike in the last couple of years. There are quite a few pictures on my website http://www.lakedistrictfishing.net along with regular angling reports. My personal best is 26lb, caught from Grasmere. I haven't pike fished for a few years now.

If you are visiting the area and want any info drop me a line

I've now uploaded some Cauvery River photos to the Image Section of the Forum.

Hi Ecclerigg,

Welcome to IA !!

I had communicated with Andrew Hosegood by email, before my first trip to the Cauvery in Nov. 2006. Andrew had advised me on the tackle for mahseer.

tight lines

Makarand
