Hello Everyone,

This is Rohit and am currently based in Mumbai.

I am a novice to the sport and am looking forward to the experts for guidance and support.

I am keen towards freshwater angling and have also picked up some basic gear from Bopanna.

Seeking advice on how to get going...

Regards,
Rohit

Thanks Bapi..

well I don't have specifics about the types of fishes, but common fresh water fish like Rohu/catla would be good.

Hi Rohit,

In my experience freshwater rivers can be most challenging to fish for the species you have mentioned, in lakes also it is difficult, however methods like feeder rig make it seem much easier. First find a spot you might want to fish at if its a lake then you can prebait the spot you want to fish at and also put in some ground bait so as to attract the fishes. In a river, I really feel its more luck based than anything else.

Regards,
Omesh
