I am Ralston Coelho from Mumbai. Close ones call me Raz, Ralsy, Razzie (and the list continues cause of my complicated pronunciation)
I have not introduced myself yet, so I felt was long due.
I am an HR professional by profession and by choice. :) My hometown in Duler – Goa.
My tryst with fishing was from childhood, when I accompanied dad on his fishing trips around the rivers of Goa. One after another the fish was hooked on and landed and more than him being excited it was always me. Fishing rod was not his kind of tool. Hand line for MJ’s and larger fish and a simple bamboo pole for smaller fish was his armour.
This bug caught on to me too and I have been fishing the waters around Goa ever since – during short vacations.
Then suddenly I happened to come across this forum and guess the spark re-ignited – this time to fish out of Goa.
I had bought a telescopic rod in 2003 (which is still going strong!) from Singapore but was now in Goa.
Thus, decided to buy myself a rod/ reel/ line and lures.
Went out fishing to Marve a couple of times, to no much avail. Tried my luck once in the waters of Revdanda where I have a place to no luck too. The saving grace is that the anglers around me too did not catch any…. Haha…. Yes. I can just make myself happy with that.
The spirit is on, love fishing. Will hopefully land my first fish here sometime soon.
I have been in touch with a couple of members on this forum to get some initial navigation – a big thank you for it.
It’s lovely to see and spend time with people who share similar passions.
Wishing you all “Tight Line” (psst… learning the “fishy” lingo”)..
