Hi Sanjay ... Welcome to the forum ... Bob ..... real shitty weather , wise decision to cancel your trip .. rained continously and had a chance tp go out just thrice in 4 days ... but had some great luck ( 32 yellow tail snapper ) in an hour of fishing .. 5 around the 14 lbs mark and the rest between 7-8 lbs .. great non stop action . Also found myself on the boat 8 miles from shore and in the midst of natures great mysteries - the sardine run -- was a couple of miles wide and long as far as the eyes could see somewhere in the region of maybe 10 - 12 kilometres .. the guys just kept jumping inot the boat once they hit the shadow of the boat ... in the end we had the ice box full - around 7 kgs of sardines which we distributed to the locals - Will send you the complete log as too busy with clearing mails
What a waste time it would have been for me, I am thankful I took the advice of my mates and postponed. I think I will be on 1 week Nov. Co-incidental circumstances though, I will be in Singapore again just before I get to India, exact time frame. I can exchange the rod then.
Yellow Tail Snapper, I am confused, are these Yellow Fin Bream? AKA Paloo.
The Sardine run must have been a sight. I have had a few experiences in the deep as well, will exchance stories next month if we meet up. This was probably what the locals in Bombay call "Sarik". Sardines do a lot of funny things during this time. I remember we used to catch them off Carter road on plain black hooks baited with "NOTHING" during this time and it was only a matter of dropping the plain hook in the water and pulling out a Sardine in a matter of seconds.
