hi everyone. i am a planter staying in ooty & a friend suggested this site to meet up with angling enthusiasts from across our country. i have started angling recently about 5 years back. got hooked on to it after went for a lark to the sutlej river next to kota & bagged myself a 6kg mahaseer. the fight it gave was exhilarating to say the least. & i did not even own a rod.. had borrowed it from a friend.
that was it & i went down hook, line & sinker.

Welcome to the forum.

You say "I am in Ooty & it is teeming with trout" but is there any trout fishing available for mortals like us ? We have been given to understand that all trout streams around Ooty are out of bounds for fishing !

Or do you have access to streams on your plantation ?

Welcome Mate,

Hooking a six KG Mahseer and fighting is really an experience which can only be felt and can not be described.

How do you target trout, spinning or fly.

Keep on posting and share your experience with all of us.

Regards,

Ali. :P
