Hi Guys,

I will like to introduce my self ,im Jaffar from Hyderabad.. let me begin with a story about my fishing adventures... i probably started to go fishing wiht my unles when i was in 7th class or something ... we used to ghatkesar and some other lake in bibi nagar dont remeber the name lol.. the tacle use to be bambo fishing sticks we use to get these from lad bazar , earthworms and chicken/beef lever for baits ... though i see them catching many fishes nothing big all in 1lb range .

1994 - 1997 hyderabad
then i found a friend with similar hobby in intermediate - so it started again almost every alternate weekend we use to go fishing...

places - ghatkesar - durgamma chervu - milaram talab - gandi pet - another place close by to lanager house on way to gandipet , there was a sai baba temple and behind it was a place more like small river this was good.

my friend firdous was a better angler compared to me - he never return empty everything we go he somehoe gets something...

we were more sucessfull at ghatkesar - catching those small ones -
the area behing sai baba temple we use to catch lots of murral ~1-2 lb.
durgama chervu - this place was hot those times - some good catches between 2 ~5kg were landed then , firdous use to use a small rod with a very fine tip , he somehow got to know how to use it ...they say its made of cow sing ? ties with a charka with heavy string - later i know its type of bottom fishing

my biggest catch in those time was probably 3lb katla at durgam chervu...

soe 2-4 years later life went buzy and then i moved out of hyderabad.

2010 Mar- Aug

recent - I had moved to us - bayarea for work and one day i went to a workshop
near readwood city port ..i came out for lunch and was walking around suddenly i saw few people fishing from pier on the port , went ahead and enquired they were fishing for jacksmelt dont know desi name... light tackle spinning rods use flots for surface fishing. all my deamons from past came i just went to riteaid a got a small rod kit < 20$ came back and casted my line - prawns as bait ... nothing that day...

i started going there on every saturday/sunday.. catching 6-10 fishes everytime ~1-2lb . now i wanted bigger ones ... manage to get some info from other anglers there...i needed to shift for bottom fishing there - mostly leapord shark , sting rays...

summary bayarea pier fishing

1 leapord shark
1 guitar shark
5 string rays
### jacksmelt

i also went on charter fishing in delta for stripe bass.
3 stripe bass > 14lb
2 rock fish

Sep 2010 -

Miri Sarawak > Malaysia - South China sea .

i have family and friends there , knowing i love fishing they bring me to fishing from a fishing village

It was off season there so not many catches - we try for 6 days in a row ..
mostly trolling with rapala xtreme lures -magnum sinker- sardine , red heads etc.

ill add the pics in a day....here need to find out how to upload pics ...

Cheers

Nice introduction, welcome to IA, I am confused with that last fish, the looks like a Sailfish with a deformed bill or a spearfish with a slightly exaggerated sail-fin.
