Pelanduk welcome to the forum.

Please do not request for information regarding charters since the reply will be against forum rules. The rules do not allow mention of commercial ventures on the forum.

Forum members may forward you the charter details via PM :)

Pelan. You are from Malaysia ? And you are a novice??? I don't buy that. Man you come from a place where you guys stock Barras :)

Welcome aboard mate. Good to have someone from the far east share their experience.

Tight lines mate.

GT's can be taken by popping through out the year around the wrecks provided the sea is not very rough. But months from November to Feb had been more productive.
Small Gt's can be attacked almost through out the year.

Indeed there are monster barra's in India. But I am in UAE. Its off season here now coz of the summers. But still I come to know from others there people are pulling Spanish mackerels occasionally though.

hi Keyur. thanks. Over here its also spanish mac season. I will be goin out next weekend. Hope to catch some monster. Mostly casting or use live bait by floating them using a condon with a steel leader. On a good day you can expect to catch about thirty to fifty. Each about 3 to 10 kgs. How about your side of action ?

Pelanduk, what species do you use as live bait for Spanish Mackerel? Do post some reports of your fishing there.

we will usually used live mackeral ( bangada, i think in local dialect kanada ) that we jig with the tiny hooks. The steel leader size 20 mm about 10 inches. Attached to the shivel. The depth of this live bait is critical. About 15 yards deep. Attached to the float and pray.

The north east part of india receives the most of the rainfall during july Aug and Sep. So no fishing till then.

Not at all expensive. I would say it becomes cheaper during the rainy/ monsoon season. Due to floods, a lot of ponds and lakes gets overflowed. People get to eat a lot of fishes during this season.

Cheers,
Apoo
