Hi everyone,

I'm Eugene, I'm brand new to this forum and I currently live in Cape Town, South Africa. I'm an absolute fishing fanatic, as I'm sure just about everyone on this forum is and I look forward to some interesting discussions!

You might wonder what I'm doing on an Indian fishing forum, well my wife is from Mumbai and we are planning to relocate to Mumbai in about 2 years' time...I've been to India a couple of times to visit my in-laws but have never had the good fortune to wet a line there - it's a life long dream of mine to fish in India, I think the fishing in India must be about as amazing as the country and the people!

Anyway, I've had a quick look around the forum and I must say, this looks like an awesome site, I hope I can contribute in some way to the wealth of knowledge being shared here.

Hi Eugene,

Welcome to IA.

It would be nice if you can share some of your fishing in Cape Town. From what I know the surf fishing is fantastic down there.

Santosh

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum mate. I have an understanding that you guys from SA are master in drop shot technique and I would love it if you can share the same with all of us.

I am sure you would love angling in India..

Regards,

Ali.

Hey guys, thank you very much for the warm welcome! To answer your questions, firstly yes, surf fishing in SA can be amazing and at times amazingly frustrating! Down here in Cape Town the water's pretty cold (average probably about 14 deg. Celsius), so we don't really have the same species that you'd find in India, but we have some interesting sport fish of our own.
As for the dropshot techniques, you are right that there are some real experts out here, but I wouldn't count myself among them I'm afraid! I think I have a long way to go before I can count myself among the top anglers out here in SA 'cos the guys are pretty dedicated.
Anyway, I would love to help anyone if I could with anything at all, so if anyone has a specific question, fire away, I can't guarantee I'll know the answer, but I'll do my best!

welkom by indian hengelaar mate.
