Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the earlier post without an introduction prior to it, I felt at home here with all this fishie talk that I dove right in! (or should I say threw my line right in!)

I'm a new fisherman aboard this forum! Proud and priveleged to be a part of this community with such seemingly great people and experts of all sorts of the art of fishing! I've only recently taken up fishing as a serious interest and it has become a near obsession to learn more and polish my basic skills!

I've lived in the UAE(Abu Dhabi) my whole life, minus some time in Spain and Canada, MTL. Ofcourse, as a person who's lived here I have lived off the beach.. watersports, wakeboarding, standup jetskiing, and some fishing experience, going on boat fishing trips with the boys and some shore fishing. Fishing hasn't been much of a usual ritual until I purchased a thrilling means of fishing.. my big blue kayak - "The Atlaniss" (purposely spelled wrong). I have also just finished Rigging up and fixing my boat for poper fishing trips, trolling, and just good fun.

Im a complete rookie in fishing, especially rod fishing with tackles, lures, baits, fillets, signature dishes, etc... Im learning along the way and to record my lessons learned and experiences, I have created a blog that I use as a diary and broadcast to all fellow interested anglers:

http://z-fishfinder.blogspot.com

Hope you like the blog and throw your much appreciated inputs any time!

Name: Zeid Salman (Pronounced Zeyd)
City: Abu Dhabi
Dock Location: Marina Mall Villas (Welcome to launch your kayak near my place if you want, just contact me before hand via PM or email @ xxxxxxxxxxxxx Deleted as you cannot put personal ids up. Please PM Zeid if you want to contact him - Mahseerken

Fishing Spots: you really dont want to know! but if you must
- The Marina Mall Villa "pond" because i want to practice my kayak abilities first
- The breakwater around the villas and towards lulu.

Goals: To Catch a yellow construction helmet on a Sabiki Rig! (only acheivable here)
- on a more serious note, just want to enjoy the sport and meet great people along the way (includes fish)

Hope to start reporting to you soon!

Z.

Hi Zeid, that's a fine kayak you have there and some excellent fishing areas as well. Try and get yourself a waterproof fish finder like the Lowrance mark 5x pro. You will be able to find structure and drop offs as well as large fish near the structures. You can try jigging with soft plastics or troll next to these fish hot spots. Have a look at the site below for more info on kayak fishing,

http://www.kayakfishingstuff.com/drupal/Articles

http://www.tarnationplantation.com/

I should be getting my kayak soon and am looking forward to it :-)

Be safe and have a blast!
