Hi all,
First I'd like to thank you all for all the information I have gathered just reading through some of the threads on this forum. I sure have learnt alot from all of you.
My name is Pawan and I am from Nepal, I have always been interested in 'fishing'. When I was much younger I caught a few eels 'Baam' and local carp called 'Rewa' (unfortunately not catch and release). All this fishing was done i a lake, using earthworms as bait and trying to ape local fishermen in their techniques (fish I was half as successful).
I am interested in learning more about the different kinds of fish and more about spinning, shore-spinning and fly-fishing. I am in Delhi quite alot, so it would really be nice to meet up with some of you guys.
My dream is to learn to fly-fish for trout and Mahseer in Himalayan streams and rivers using a bamboo-rod and home-made flies
I am also eager to learn more about circle and barbless hooks and handling fish properly
There definitely are alot of like-minded people on this forum. Hope to be able to learn from all of you and go fishing together sometime.
By the way, the tackle I used for the little bit of fishing I did were:
Rod: Shakespeare Red ruby telescopic 1129H-210. Sections 6 , Action B 10-20. Carbon composite.
Reel: Shakespeare MK II 2280-030 Ball Bearing
030 Series 2280/2260 DIA-METER 020(200) 030(100) LBS-YDS 4(290) 8(130)
Line: No idea what it was, unfortunately I can't find the packaging.
Hooks: sizes 10 and 8. Have some fly-spoons, but never learnt to use them.
can anybody help telling me a little about what all those numbers mean, if the tackle is any good or I need to try looking for something new, and a little about maintenance. What bits do I need to oil/grease etc.
Thanks alot in advance guys.
Cheers,
Pawan
