Hi,
I am Addae (Ah-day) but you guys can call me A.R.M. I am a american bass and trout fisher man based in LA. I move out here with my family because my dads job has moved, so for the next two years I am in Mumbia. I would love it if you guys could recomend some places to fish, I have already tried powai lake, the guys where the bomb but, I like lure fishing and spinning more. I have been looking into masheer fishing, Is there any place close by? Remember that all my tackle is for bass which don't get bigger than 10 kgs, so it is not made for the rigors of sea fishing.

tight lines,
A.R.M :-)

Hi A.R.M. its going to be start of the Threadfin season in Bombay soon and there are some nice haunts on the rocky shoreline along the madh coast and off Manori island. The set up for threadfin is normal a 9 foot rod ,20 lbs line and a reel holding 200 metres or more line, lures are spoons, plugs. There are also high chances of hooking barra in these locations.I will only be back in end march for my fishing forays i will PM you if you wanna come along.Cheers and watch out for the Bombay traffic and go easy on the Bhelpuri,Samosas.:)))

Hi Addae,

Welcome to IA. Lot of places around Mumbai where you can go fishing for Mahaseer.

If your bass tackle is rated for 10 kg, you could very well target inshore fish like the bara, MJ and stuff.

Santosh

Thanks every one for the info,
Off-shore fishing sounds just my speed. Do you guys know a good place to by tackle ect.? I think for the most part my bait is good but my rod might be too light. My bait is classic bassing gear, lots of 5-8 inch plugs, topwater poppers, and a bunch of plastic worms, crawdads, and various other jigs, I will post pics soon.
santosh: can you give me some place names?, thanks

Tight lines
A.R.M.
