Greetings from dark and snowy New Jersey, where my rods are packed for the season. We are now in the icy grip of winter..while many of you are heading into peak fishing season, no? I see the Chennai gang nodding their collective heads.
I'm Sumant, ex Loyola College, Chennai, then transplanted to Japan, where I got bitten by the the fishing bug. That developed into a raging fever, and has never subsided. I'm in the US now, and am essentially a shore fisherman. Love to fish in the sea, but swim like a stone and have spent too much time on boats puking my guts out, so stick to the shore.
I was intrigued to see this forum..the Net rocks..and to see that there is a small, but serious bunch of fishing enthusiasts. The only time I fished in India was about 10 yrs ago where I carried down some tackle for a fruitless expedition to the Mahabalipuram area. By reading the posts (Maruthu et al) , I see that there are other, better options, despite the absence of jetties, and am especially excited to hear of GT fishing. Woah!--I did that while in Japan.
Am coming down to Chennai in Feb, and am debating whether to bring done my gear for a shot at those big ole GTs that seem to be hanging around the harbor.
Pleasure to meet you all...tight lines.
Sumant
