I am glad that I found this very informative forum.

Hi to every one in this forum..

I am from Bangalore, currently in US. I am a novice angler, more into dock fishing using spin casting.

Having experienced the thrill and fun involved in angling, I am already hooked into angling, looking forward to sustain this hobby, hope to get more angling opportunities in India as well.

I am a keen aquarium hobbyist, running multiple freshwater hi tech planted tanks which obviously makes my connection with fishes.

I am here to learn and receive valuable angling guidance from the experts in this forum.

Hi Keen Angler,

Welcome to IA. I used to keep a planted tank as well some time back with all the CO2 injection system etc, if that is what you mean. I also had a Saltwater corral tank which was completely cycled and running for over 8 years till it got busted when I was on holiday and we had a power failure for 3 hours.

Did not keep fish for about 2 years after that, however just bought a Flowerhorn about 4 days ago. I was fascinated with that fish when I first saw it but never got one until now, I know the fish comes with a lot of ethical baggage but screw that    . Some of their versions remind me so much of Saltwater Angels like the queen angel.

Thanks Ali, Ravi & Bobby for your kind words.

Bobby, Yes, I meant the hitech Co2 systems run with PH2 controllers, solonoid volves etc..

I have started this hobby 6 years ago in a humble way, now fish keeping has become a part of my life.

Nice to know a fellow aquarist here.[/quote]

There are a lot of aquarists on this site, everyone here has a common affinity with fish. I know of one of our IA anglers who used to have his saltwater sent all the way from Jaigad to Pune on a weekly basis to keep his SW tanks in condition, marine salt was very hard to come by in India at the time.

All the best fishing in the new year.

Hi Keen Angler,

Greetings from another new member!

I'm one of the aquarists in this forum. Fish tanks and fishing seem to go hand-in-hand. My main interest is Tanganyika cichlids. I have presently a total of 15 tanks sized 128-720L. Focus on cave breeders and snail dwellers + one group of Tropheus sp. black and some free swimmers. Breeding/sale of Ancistrus and a few cave breeders covers most of my expenses in relation to water and electricity.

Best wishes,
Dan
