welcome to indian anglers . when i was a small boy my father was posted in assam, we had visited quit a times to shillong. we used to stay in a gust house overlooking a dam (don'tremember the name) , i do have faint memories of those days.white gushing water from the slop of dam... getting nostalgic ... :-) even in those days i used to lilk the name "Shillong" quit facinating. we had an assemes tribal orderly(in fact my first fishing guru) who teached me the first basics of fishing in jungles of assam in a very premative ways quit strange methodes ,small check dams, mesh prepared with bamboo, he was so expert that he used to catch fishes with bare hands standing in water grass .....it was an introduction to fishing to which iam still hooked.

Yes ! yes you are quit right . however those were some of the sweetest memory i had about the place. And the tribal techniques used by my fishing guru were very (premative you can say) effective ... that i'm still hooked to the hook.
