Hey. I actually tried registering another account, but that one never got verified. So its been about a 4 days before i registered from another account (this one). In that time ive read atleast 100+ of the posts here. I am pretty newbish at fishing. Ihave been fishing at varvan, and just last month i went to tata dam in lonavla and tried spooning for mahseer of a boat (my friend's dad, whose heavily into fishing works there). Ive mainly only done float. Not caught too many fish, but i try to go to every pond or lake or canal, every oppurtinuity i get. Here's to learning much more on this amazing topic !

Welcome to the forum Mukund, I hope you learn much from here and go on to catch some big fish. Remember a day out fishing is worth a hundred days of reading on a forum. Looking forward to seeing some of the fish you catch in the near future.

Regards,

Mighty Marlin.

HI Mukund,

welcome to IA.

theres lots to learn here & lots of people to take you out fishing. Let fishing be a passion & not an obsession (like it is for most of us here).

Looks like you may stil be in School / college. you got a long way to go & my bit of advice is 'DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR STUDIES AT ANY COST'.

Have fun, enjoy your fishing, protect your environment, preserve nature.

Regards,
Keyur

Hi Mukundh,

Welcome to the Forum. On Sunday I tried River Pawna. Under the bridge on Pune Bye pass Road. Though the locals were catching Mrigals on worms and atta, I did not get any strikes on spinning. You may try this spot.

Regards,

Arun

They use Floats (peacock feather stick). They have a small bamboo stick of say 4 feet with a hole at the tip thru which they pass the line and instead of reel, they wound the line over a bottle. You should see their tackle by visiting the spot.

As I mentioned, the spot is on the Mumbai- pune by pass road just before Hinjewadi. The road crosses the River Pawana.

Arun

Hi, i am sanjay a govt. officer. i joined this site recently last week only.
as a young boy say 25-30 yrs back i used to do lot of fishing with my friends at nagpur, we used to bunk clasess at the lake named talenkhadi/ futala was just next to our school.we developed lot of angler friends who used to visit the lake at that time. We developed lot of so colled fishing skills. tough i had not done any serious angling the passion is still alive and we friends (from nagpur who is in Mumbai and one at pune) now have acquired some new fishing gears. when i was posted at Ratnagiri and konkan cost, as Customs officer i used to borrow the fishing rod from the forigners from the forign Ships calling at port and do fishing for makrel surmai and other sea fishes. i wish to continue passion and would like to know from u all about the spots around pune.

Hi. I would love to tell you all the spots i know, but they arn't exactly the cleanest or best places to fish. I think there are some very nice places in the vicinity though, such as khadakwasla and around. Again, there are people here who know about thousand times more than i do! It really is a great forum, you'll get answers to all your questions here.

At last a nice custom officer, most of the other ones who borrow stuff never think of returning them back

Sanjay can you help some of our guys make some deepsea fishing trips?
