Hi all, first off apologies for the log in but it's a name I have used on a non fishing forum in my home town of Chiang Mai Thailand for many a year and I simply used the same name and password to join here.

Have fished Behmashwarri for 4 consecutive seasons from 2003-2006 but missed last 2 seasons as have taken an interest in sea fishing in Malaysia but as this an Indian forum I'll skip the details. Have also fished Galibore but far more so at the former. Best mahseer to date is 50lbs and I'll try and revisit this season and hopefully they'll be some pointers posted here as to water levels as information I have received from Jungle Lodges in the past has been 'erratic' to be kind.

All the best

Thanks Mahseerken it was a good fish and enjoyed the fight. The next best I had is in the 35lbs range and several around 30 but this is the culmination of 4 weeks fishing so still plenty of room for improvements. I am not at home at present but will take a look when I get there and see what digital shots I have. I was in Galibore when a first time mahseer angler brought a 75lb back to camp long after dark and what a fine fish that was so maybe next time.

Cheers

Hi Bobby, yes the 75lb was released after about a 100 pictures were taken but the gilly was on hand at all times so every chance the fish survived.

Tathagata, yes I did post a comment for choice of username but as I explained I have used it for many a year and if anyone thinks I should change it then please advise otherwise I can only try my utmost to do it justice!

Hoping to meet up with some of you lads in Bheemashwari this season or even Galibore if I can find an affordable way to fish there.

Don't think there is any rule on IA that says you cannot use that name mate  feel free to use it and no need to apologize

Glad to note that the fish was released.

apoo / angler-ali, thanks for the welcome.

angler-ali, well one story where a mahseer wasn't to be seen or wasn't even being sought, I'll try and keep in brief:

1982. Bangkok which in those days was 'excessive' and wife and I needed a break. Local travel agent says one word 'Kashmir'. Flights and houseboat booked (I had no prior knowledge of Kashmir).

Houseboat owner suggested trout fishing / readily agreed / Drove (ambassador of course!) straight to the bailiff's lodge / fished the morning / sat on the bailiffs lawn / BBQ the mornings catch / fished afternoon / returned to Nagin.

Fish large? Not at all. Plenty caught? Just enough to feed us for the day but it was just one of those days that angling can provide and even after 27 years I still recall every step. Absolutely magical experience.

(If Kashmir is recommended for trout these days please do advise).

Will load up some mahseer shots when I get home.

Cheers lads.

If only I could work out how to post pictures I would give some evidence to support the 'mahseer' tag.

Apologies but I cannot upload. Don't believe it's anything to do with the fact I am using an Apple but if anyone would be so kind as to upload 4 shots for me do advise and give me an idea on how I can get the shots to you.

Thanks lads
