Hello everyone, Terry here, keen UK-based carp angler and future guest of one Rustam 'I know nothing about cricket' Bana.

I'm heading for India in February '07, where Rustam has assured me I'll stand slack-jawed in amazement at his angling prowess. Certainly worth flying thousands of miles for, I trust you'll agree. :?

Anyway, well-done on an excellent forum and I look forward to learning a great deal on here.

Cheers, all.

Terry (Wordbender)

Hi Terry,

Welcome to the nut-house...

If you go through to forum you will notice that Ol' Rusty is going to be in a race with another member from this forum Owen...they are running the race for charity to raize money for Rustams favourite cause "Fishing Tackle" ...na..just kidding..its for WASI (am I correct Rustam).

He will soon be on to you for a contribution...

Ah, so his Lordship has finally made an entrance.... I assume the bum has healed then?

Since Terry is being unusually modest (must be ill) let me introduce a very dear friend and a favourite whipping boy of mine - he thinks highly of the Pomgolian cricket....

Terry is Technical Editor of Airgun World - the world's largest airgunning comic. He isn't technically minded but they need a clown....

He writes for a few fishing mags (damned if I know which) and for Dogs Today.

If there is one thing Terry is really good at, it's wordsmithing and his articles on Anglers Net are a must read as are his posts.

Great to have you on board and it's time we started to firm up on dates.

Rustam

Don't be silly. Have you seen the cost of fishing tackle? And I have only just started out.....

You're his Bit&* :P

1. Sadly, it'll be month before I can forego my daily wound dressings - and it's 'lower spine' not 'bum', I'll have you know! I'm seriously missing my fishing and shooting trips, although I've had a couple of decent carp this year, pre-ailment.

2. 'Firming dates'? Do you NEVER stop thinking of food, Rusters?

I'll know my flight dates next week and you can start fattening up that calf, preparing for the public holiday that will obviously greet my arrival in your quaint village, and generally worrying in earnest about my every comfort. Oh, and if I require an occasional 'lower spine' re-dressing, I'm sure you won't mind playing nursey.

So MUCH to look forward to, then. 8)

Man I worried about the two of you, when together do you fish or just get Kinky...just to quote a bit:

Rustam: “finally made an entrance.... I assume the bum has healed then?”
Rustam: “favourite whipping boy of mine”
Rustam: “If there is one thing Terry is really good at”

Terry: “Sadly, it'll be month before I can forego my daily wound dressings - and it's 'lower spine' not 'bum', I'll have you know! I'm seriously missing”
Terry: “'Firming dates'”
Terry: “Oh, and if I require an occasional 'lower spine' re-dressing, I'm sure you won't mind playing nursey. ”
Terry: “So MUCH to look forward to, then. ”

Owen, I think that Race is just a lure, I would be careful of Rustam

Hi Terry,

Good to have you the forum, hope you'll be well and fishing again soon. You're going to need your lower back when it comes to those mahseer.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.

It's OK mate, I'm going with Rustam - no back danger there.

:D

Thanks for the welcome, folks, you've made an ol' country boy with a sore 'lower back', feel at home. 8)

Ha so you're going with Rustam huh
I'll make sure I hook him into a couple of mahseer before you land up, don't worry I'll make sure they're small ones, wouldn't want to send ol' Rusty water skiing on his back down the Cauvery......
He'll be sorted and ready by the time you arrive

Regards,
Mighty M.

Good fellow, Marvin!

While you're there, can you also teach him a little about cricket and make him give up smoking. He'll thank me for it in the end. 8)

Hi Terry,
Welcome to this nuthouse 8)
I am the bloke that Rustam is going to run a gruelling 4 Km race against on the banks of the Kaveri in 3 months time. And you say he smokes !!!!!!!!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm food for thought. :D
Speaking of food and diets, is that another one of his weaknesses.
I know I can't expect you to give too much away, considering you guy's are old pals and all that, but i will tell you this much, i am a 50 years old and have been written off by Rusty.
He has asked for a doctor to be onsite, (for whose benifit we shall have to see), and incase there is no doctor available, he has agreed to a donkey being on call.
Man what a race this is going to be.
Please don't miss it
Regards
Owen

Owen, as a fellow half-centurian I can only side with your fine self in your quest to teach that whippersnapper Rustam a lesson.

Sadly, I fear that I may be even more athletically-challenged than Rusters, and my need for serious ballast reduction is pressing to say the least.

Mind you, I'll be like a racing snake come February and Rusters will still be smoking.

Oh yes.

Obviously. As if I wouldn't!

Hastily ties knot in hankie, puts reminder on mobile phone, makes note on calendar and begs Wifey to remind me... 8)
