Very nice fish there.... Please elaborate a little on the tackle used! I'm doing some fresh water weekend fishing here in pune and from what i'm told there are a few murrels in the water! however they don't take to bait and the chances of loosing spinners and spoons there are many! some inputs might help me get on of these guys there!

Regards,

Omesh,

Frog is the best bait for Murrel. :!:

Why so touchy man. :?: :?:

Ali.

PS: It may be out of ignorance but actually your post is offensive and rude, so take care in future and in case of a doubt, PM the concern person and clarify things.

Well I know a frog is good bait! I was more focused on the rod/reel/line etc. I should have mentioned it though!

If you genuinely meant I should catch a frog... rana tigrina and use it as bait to catch a murrel then I am sorry to have reacted and also been a little offensive on another thread,

However I did feel your reply was more sarcastic than genuine. No hard feelings!

You didn't have any wrong intentions however your reply was taken as though it was sarcastic and it created a little bad air between us.

None the less, since you've cleared the air. I now know what you meant! So I APOLOGIZE! In the upper case on this thread!

Will catch up with you soon! Hopefully with a frog this time and we can go catch a Murrel together! if not the normal aata and considering I might just get worms this weekend from a source! we could target some carp and some cats if not the Murrel.

Best Regards my friend Darryl, No Hard feelings! I must have clearly mistook you! In this case I know I did as I haven't mentioned rod or reel etc. I know your good intentions were taken by me otherwise. Real sorry for the same.

Cheers!

hi oomesh.. rod ,reel, line and lures and live bait and tactics for murrel are as follows.

rod: ideally 6 or 7 ft max. with good fish stopping capacity eg. ugly stick tiger (or something like it)

reel .. a 4000 series spinning reel.

line. 20 pound braid (pref . moss green)

leader. 2 ft fluro carbon or mono 40 or 50 pound.

lures. for snaggy areas. (heavy plant cover) scum frogs.

lures for open water deep rock pools etc. spinners, spoons, small hard body crankbaits . and small poppers for surface work.

live bait. small frogs( never toads), minnows, small crabs, cockroaches, big earthworms,

what time to use what tactics.... scum frogs .. early morn and dusk.. in heavy cover..spinners work well on bright days in non snag rock bottom areas. live bait.. again dawn .. night... dusk.

locations....... :-) you got to find them...and its hard work..

all the best..

regarding your apology .. honestly.. u were forced.. but nonetheless.. it is wholeheartedly accepted.
as ali bhai says.. if in doubt about something dont get offensive.. ask and clear the issue.. remember u are new to the sport and if u want the good graces of people .. then be polite and humble.. it will take you far in every area of your life.. learn to know who is here to help you and who is just playing around.
and finally.. as the bible says ... be slow to speak and quick to listen..

best regards ....

as of now ... i wil go underground.. coz like a fish i am spooked, by your reply.. i told you clearly when we met my terms and conditions... and i told you my responses too. so, till i feel you are safe, to take out again, you are welcome to try whereever you want to fish for carp or murrel or the coast by urself or anyone else..

the above list for catching murrel is the most comprehensive list in one post anyone has given to anyone on this forum since it began..
so i hope you realize that i have good intentions for you at heart..

all the best again..

I wasn't forced. I understood you were not being sarcastic. Hence a heart felt apology. So much to appreciating it like you said you would....

I agree. The info is good. No one else would've taken out the time and share the knowledge.

I appreciate your good intentions and regret to have mistook you otherwise.

I wouldn't do what your doing but everyone is not the same... I haven't gone against your terms and no one knows your spot. No one will. This is a small misunderstanding that has spooked you and you'd prefer to stay away.... Can't change it.

Do let me know if you ever feel I'm safe, I won't dream about it, until then I'm far more spooked to contact you for anything.

thanks for the best wishes.

Take care.

Tight lines!

oomesh .. to me a persons attitude and how he or she responds or reacts is the means by which i guage a person.

at the risk of sounding judgemental, i feel your attitude is such that i want to keep a way for a while..

please understand that i have nothing against you, as i always say i never hate the person, i only hate the attitude... simple because a person can choose to genuinely change his attitude.. and till you understand and do that ... i wont be around. its purely a matter of principle. all the best ..
