Hi All,

Last 1 month was at home and had no action, so was really ticked off as had no one to go out with to fish.......

One fine day got a scrap from Hari who also is from Bangalore, immediately mentioned to let me know if he is going out for any fishing trip anywhere. Response was promt from his end and we both decided that would go out fishing saturday 10th July.

Appreciate Hari as he works till 4:30 in the morning but yet his passion for fishing was such that he agreed to go out fishing in the weekend.

Started from home at 5:15 in the morning reached Hari's office by 5:30 and we both left for his house (was shocked to see his tackle collection....envy you buddy), by the time we got everything ready and 2 of his friend joined us it was 7:00 in the morning, reached the spot by 8:30 in the morning. Started ground baiting the place with bread mixed with Calcutta Masala, and after 30 mins started casting and waiting for a strike.....however ther was none, so decided to go and do some spinning with Hari, After spinning for around 15 mins got a strike and landed a 1 kg murrel, so was really excited and went on casting and spinning, after some time got a big strike tried pulling the fish in but back of my mind it was always there that my line was a 6 ponder so allowed the fish to run. After 10 min of playing landed this beauty of 4.5 kg.

Thanks a lot Hari for teaching me using a bait casting reel the right way.

Rod - Sure catch Extreme 6' rod
Reel - Black Knight
Line - 6lb Cajun
lure - Mepps Size 4
Total Catches - 3 Murrel (4.5 kg, 1 kg, 750gm), 1 Rohu (1.5kg), 2 Mirgal (1kg, 800gm), 1 pearl spot (400gm)

Hi Chris, Nice murral there. Nice to see someone using a baitcasting reel. I guess most of us go with a spinning reel. I have my Shimano Curado that's never seen water.
Manchenbele back in the day produced some quality murral, nice to see a big fish from there.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.

Thanks Marlin..... just falling in love with the Baitcasting reels....The one in the Picture is Hari's Curado.... I have a Abu Garcia C4 which is very smooth, planning to go for Saltwater fishing and trying the C4, so just preparing for that..... Getting some PE4 line which is the right match for any Baitcasting reel....

Hi Chirs, Good luck with the sea fishing trip. Let us know how you do once you're back from your trip.

Tight lines,

Nice fish...it's a pity that your fishing guru has not impressed upon you the importance of releasing a trophy fish safely.

Murral of that size are breeders and hardly good eating. Do give that a thought when you are out fishing next.

Good Catch Bro....

the Murrals of that size is definitely are survivors in that part of the Reservoir,
have caught a few & missed some monsters from that place,
that place is heavily netted almost all the days :( ,.
had caught several Murrals from very close to the nets,& most of the fishes have net marks on them :( ,
