Thanks guys for the nice comments :-) :-)

It was a long way to go for a big catch like this and i waited almost 2 years. there is a good saying when everything other fails working with the people of same intrest works & it worked for me. thanks to all IANS and this platform where i can express my feelings :D

this new technique is still a riddle for the local people here :?: :?: they are asking me why this goli is not on hook? :-) :-)

atlast thanks all for your nice support in making this new technique work for me.

many more catches are yet to come

regards
Manish.

"this new technique is still a riddle for the local people here they are asking me why this goli is not on hook? "

dear manish.. just be careful as ali mentioned earlier, not to show or explain the working of that rig to much to the locals , before you know it you'll have ten guys sitting beside you..

and they wont be catching and releasing....

also every now and then put some of the fish you will certainly catch , back , so that you may be blessed with bigger and better catches next time...

once again all the best...

btw .. do you guys call the grass carp "goutiya" in nagpur like it's called here in pune..

Thanks again guys for your wonderful comments and support :-) :-)

@hamour.....catch and release is the only option which left for me after getting this grass carp because the contractor of futala (a local dada) is having problem with this technique. some greedy local anglers here have started throwing "jhabbu" to catch fish. it is possible that in future i will not be able to use method feeder on futala.

regards
Manish

Thats real bad? How did this happen, a ban on you? I guess this also holds relevance to a ban on any angler there. Why and how did this happen?

thanks guys!!!!!!

I was not expecting one more grass carp this time but it came like a double surprise.....so i am happy :-) but with this catch a bad news too came to me that method feeder is not allowed because it works like "jhabbu" which is banned too in futala. people are having objection because it does not contain float and the groundbaiting it does is very far.

now i have to try it on some other place and i am not at all worried :-)

may be some more varieties of carp is waiting for a picture :D :D

regards
Manish :D :D

see , thats why i said , dont show the locals the fish and the method... when a friend and i fish.. and we get the fish.. if there are locals around we bring the fish near the bank and act like we are going to lift the fish out of the water , but actually dehook it in the water itself and let it get away..

everyone is happy then.. we are happy we enjoyed the fight and know that fishing will be good next time too.. the fish is happy coz its still alive..and the locals dont get bugged or jealous. some think we are fools .... some understand what we do.. and now respect the fact that we dont kill the big ones.. infact the think that we are some big shots ... coz we dont take the fish.. which to them means we are rich.. and so the treat us with even more respect.. they even tell us where the action is happening and when is a good time and so on ans so forth... so you see there are many benefits of catching and releasing the big one.. discreetely... hope by now you understand this ... and hope you continue enjoying this sport as you are know ..congrats and regards ... all the best a the other locations.. remember be discreet...

Good for you manish, I am really happy with your zeal and enthusiasm. Congratulations on landing really splendid fish. I am sure, it must have hurt when the method feeder was banned by the local goons but in some way it is good also. As i suggested in a previous thread, be very discreet while using advance tactics for carps. If every one start using these techniques and does not release any thing, the lakes will go empty.

Regards,

Ali.

Sper catch. I am now inspired and am in the process of trying to learn how to make a rig and use it at Bhakra where there are some seriously heavy duty carps !!!

It will work mate. They did bite and finish one entire feeder. So we now just need to fine tune the length of the hooks, te floating system and the other details. I can see one of us reeling in a large one soon.

Ali!

We groundbaited a small cove right under Dhurv's place in the morning before setting out and then in the evening when we got back. We then set out line on quickly made feeder rigs at around 8. The movement started soon after. One rig came up empty and all the rest had seen some action. Now that we know it works we need to start experimenting with the entire system.

No screaming runs yet. But I can hear them coming soon.

Cheers

Ken suggest you place the hook baits on the bottom with out the pop ups with a stiff bit of coated wire with a swivel that lays back around 6 inches from the feeder . Also the hook bait would hve to be pretty large ( aka a bit smaller than the kind they use with Ragi on Cauvery) as i belive that you stand a better chance of a hook up as Mahseer are bottom feeders . Just a theory that you may like to try

@ken

keep on doing that and I am sure you are bound to land something really good. Just for information, Jawed today landed 13 Catlas, from 15 kg to 25 kg. Powai is a changed place for sure.

Ali. :D
