While the southern rohu's don't put up acrobatic displays, they certainly have some gumption!

I agree with you Owen.. The rohus there are like mini-subs

Mrigals, as far as I know, never go airborne. Infact they have their head facing down and the keep trying to knock out the hook by hitting the ground.. Mrigals do not take much of a run, like the rohu.. But once they are within 10-15 metres, they refuse to come in and will give a helluva fight...

Guys Im attaching one of the local recipies we use here in Pakistan. Its in Urdu as most of the herbs names used in the reciepe were near impossible for me to translate into Roman urdu.

One can get all these from a Hakeems shop.

Owen your rite. Rahus tend to go air borne. Infact thats there first signature move once they are hooked. I have seen big rahu do the same. As for Mirgal they have a real signature move. they move there head side to side in a no-no movement.

I have caught a snake head or two that gave a few air borne moves.

Hi ! Members,

Should I use the same bait for Rahu, Catla & Mrigel? Specially where Mrigel dominate others in numbers. :?

hozefaishaqali,

Will try, nut I guess can rite the names in English, nut to get the English names wuld be tuff. U can get the stuff from a Hakeems shop or a pansar shop.

The main ingredient is Mustard Cake ( Sarsoo Khal), u need to grind it into a powder. The you add bolied rice. The rice needs to be boiled in a manner in which they absorb the water, the water shouldn't be thrown away. The add shakar ( raw sugar) or gur or Gur syrup. Then add a few herbs/ spices for fragrance like ( Jifil/ Virch/ Zeera Etc). Add a tea spoon of sweet Soda dn leave for a while. This is the ground bat

Will post the exact quantity of rice for each Kg of Khal tomorrow.
