Hello all,
Me and my and my dad have a question, I live by powai lake and have gone out fishing with one of the fish-o-holics there (can one of you please tell me his ID on the forms his pics are all over the club walls, one has a big red snapper? he also has a beard?) and we, being american, are used to bait and lure fishing not the methods use in powai lake :doubt: . So my dad wanted me to ask you guys if there is a way to fish using a bobber and hook? or just rigging it on the lake bed? Thanks for the help,

Tight lines,
A.R.M. :D

Hi A.R.M.

The guy in question is Mr. Jawed Ansari. There are many methods of targeting the carp in Powai. If you are interested in catching small carps, the zero balance setup with small hooks, where the hook is some six inches above the bottom (Baited with earthworm) work best. For bigger fishes you can also try feeder rig.

Regards,

Ali.. :P

Yes I do fish in Powai and I think I was fishing there when you visited Powai with Jawed. My machan is next to Jawed.

A small carp is somewhere between 1-3 Kg.

Regards,

Ali..

Hey ARM,

Use light tackle in Powai & u'll have a blast. I am a member in Powai and Ali is the one who taught me carp fishing.

I use no more than 10 LB tackle for carp. Have gone as low as 5 lb and just loved it.

Santosh
