Hi Guys,

I found this one on another forum of a World Record Common Carp.
[url]

Really Big fish  but terribly ugly if you ask me, no where close to our Mahseer.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.

The Auspicious Day is still some way off. On the video, it shows the carp being caught on 25 October.

'Twas a good weekend, like any other spent outdoors. Will put up a summary with a few pics later on.

Year of birth is 1965. Eat your heart out ya fossil!

... have to go back to the original topic.
I don't manage to open the video clip about the carp, but would be very interested to learn about the weight. I thought the world record common carp to be caught here in Germany a few month back this year. Is this record accepted by IGFA standards?

Dirk,

I don't know if another world record common carp was caught earlier this year but the one shown in the video was caught on 25th October 2005 in Germany by Christian Finkelde. It weighed 34.45 kgs / 76 lbs. 7oz.

I can see Rusty becoming more and more reluctant by the day.
Perhaps he needs to loose some rust
Meanwhile he has reluctantly agreed to the 9th or 10th of Dec for the great race 8)
I will give him enough time during the race to puff on some cigars (read as send smoke signals  ) and call for Munswamy's donkey to help carry his sorry butt the rest of the way
If that happens, i promise to call for a walker and keep pace
All proceeds will be going into the WASI Anti Poaching Fund [smilie=gt-happyup.gif]

It wasn't weighed.

I thought Owen wasn't going to make any more comments on the race until I gave him confirmed dates. So much for resolution. I wonder if he will even turn up on the day....

I know what you mean. I'm dying to get out and get some 'serious' fishing done. However will have to wait for a couple of months before the water conditions improve. Till then it'll have to be running races and other nonsensical thamasha

Tight lines,
Mighty M.

OK guys no more about the race. Will just wait for Rusty to turn up under the old tamrind tree at moslehalla.
Just as keen to hear the reel sing, but will first have to wait for nature to take its course on the river.

Finally, some reflected glory. I was born the same year. Hopefully some of Rustam's skill will wear on to me and I'LL finally catch a fish.

Aren't you the two jokers who specialise in hooking socks on the Yamuna?

Be careful what you wish for. It will cost you an arm and a leg in lures.
