Hi Guys and Girls,

Am new to the forum but an old Indian fishing hand. Now live in NY, USA. We have some tremendous Common Carp fishing here! All to ourselves, many huge reservoirs and no one catches them! Just yesterday we caught 23 fish, incl 3 fish over 20lb, largest was 24 and others in the 17-18lb average range.

We bait with boiled corn and sugar after fermenting for a few days - under 50lbs over 4 days produced this bag!

Thats 400lbs of fish or close to! Will post some pics soon...

Hi g s b
Corn baiting is used for lake fishing , remove the kernels from the cob and then place the kernels on the triple hooks and cast

Common Carp are abundantly found in Pakistan as well, much to the displeasure of the anglers as they are really a menace and before you can say Jack they will have invaded all water reservoirs know to you.

In Pakistan thanx to the short sightedness of the fisheries Dept and the locals desire to take matters into there own hands common carp have found there way even to the northern most parts of Pakistan ( Gilgit and Skardu) and what else can I say are surviving there and out growing and out eating all the native/ local fish species.

As for catching common carp Harryxs I would recommend more localized baits. Atta (flour kneaded and boiled to stop it from coming of from the hook), worms, sweetened atta ( Shakar added), mixture of wheat and maize atta with chicken feed, to pieces of rotis all work well. Judging from the pics of Bhakra, its some what similar to Tarbella, try live bait and dead bait in winters for common carp. This works really well in places void of vegetation.
