A fishing trip for my younger bro and me turned out to be a family affair, my mum, wife, sister and a friend wanting to come. bookings were made and we left at 6am 3rd May. Arriving at the wasi cottage lake at 10, the water looked pretty high for this time of the year and it was going to be a real hot day. Tackle set up, lines were cast out. after an hour of nibbles, my bro and I went out into the boat to the other side of the lake. Apart from a few tugs here n there, we returned to the cottage for lunch with our arms and legs like KFC chicken. Post lunch, we went across to the road adjoining the lake, it was an aquarium with Tilapia and Rohu(some very big) feeding on the grass floating down. For 3 hours we tried ragi with sinker, without sinker, grass, sweet corn, bread but to no avail. They just wouldn't touch. Fed up, I rigged up with ragi again and cast out, rod under one arm I was helping my younger bro tie a float on his line when without warning the line was screaming out of my reel. Dropping his line and float I struck. A fight for 20 mins with a not so tight drag ended with the fish finally in the landing net. It was lifted out, unhooked and weighed at 6.5kgs. My brother standing next to me went "Whoa, my dream fish!" I was absolutely delighted. The evening was followed with my friend Alister catching a small carnatic carp. Sunday was followed with a trip to forbes sagar, 2 Mahseer, 2 Carnatic carp and 4 murrel caught.

Hi Friend,
A very nice description and good fishing. Congratulation on your first rohu. Great to see your younger brother holding the fish proudly. These are the one who will carry the flame of angling forward. Once more, congratulation and good luck for furter trips.

Regards,

Ali

Hi Alexis,

Nice report. Good to see you and your family had a good trip there and got to relax in peace and quiet. I guess nothing can quite beat family fishing outings and some fish being caught.

Regards,

Mighty Marlin.
