Hi friends..last weekend i was fishing at a lake nearby to my town. It was abt some 2 O'clock wen i went fishing, using earthworm as bait. for almost five hours i was not able to hook a single catch, though the lake has ample of fish(the local people say). frankly speaking i am a newbee, n don't have much experience. Guru's please help me out..some fishing tips that would really help lads like me.. :?

Were you using a float or was your bait on the lake bed? What was your tackle setup?

I advise that you put out about three lines with worm on the float and put each hook at a different depth. One about two feet below the surface, another about five and the third one about a foot above the bottom. That way when you do get a bite you will know at what depth the fish are feeding. Remember to throw in some cooked rice or bits of bread paste around the area where your hooks are.

Hi there Salman,

Here is a good site to check up on. It has details on float fishing.
http://www.tacklebargains.co.uk/getting ... ishing.htm

The next site will give you animated instructions on knots.
http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishi ... dknots.com

Hope it helps you get a fish.

yep try diffrent depths when you are fishing using the float method! always try some thing diffrent if you do not get any bites, after 1hr as the fish tend to feed at diffrent levels at diffrent times of the day! the hotter the weather the shallower you should be fishing also try using diffrent hook lengths eg 2lbs line if 4lbs line is not working scaling down will some time improve your catch rate. you may lose a few but at the end of the day you will still bag more than when using heaver gear!
