In a place like that, fish don't matter! Looks so much like malvalli.

What sort of fish do you find in your rivers?

Yes, great place & pictures. But, without a healthy sport fish population we will have no new converts to the sport.

Hi Jonahpach

Really great sites and wonderful pics. They got to have some kind of sport fish. Waters look good for Mahseer. What do the locals say???
Anyway, happy fishing on those fabolous sites.

Cheers

Sualeh

Hello guys thanks for the warm welcome.. Heck I am yet to fish in the biggest river in Mizoram which empties into the bay of bengal.. River dolphins etc.. etc,, (Will come up with their proper scientific names as I dont know head or tail of fish) Dont eat them either.. Otherwise I discovered why we dont have much fish in our smaller rivers and streams when I met this guy

Heres one of the reasons other than dynamiting of rivers by PWD workers
The backpack of this local fisherman contains a battery pack! Image

Fingerlings are electrocuted before they reach maturity!

An unfortunate unintended victim..

Hi Jonahpach
Its really shocking to see the massacre of small fry. By the way, what do they do with such small fish? As far i know, its quite difficult to produce the required amout of electric current to kill a big fish, unless there is a 220 V connection nearby. And small fry, i cant understand why should the locals get after them? As for use of dynamite, it was quite common in Pakistan as well but after 9/11, there is a significant decrease. Anyone in possession of any explosive can be dealt very severly on terrorism charges. A blessing in disguise.

Cheers

Sualeh

The small fishes are a delicacy in the north east.
