Folks

Landed a Bull Dodo on fly...went round the boat several times with severe head shaking stunts, but the fly holds well and subdue with a CTS 9wt with SA windcutter line and 20lbs floro tippet. Weather perfect, flat as a swimming pool.

Wow Tacklebloke

That is one dorado. Their arial show is a sight to behold especially when caught on a fly. Would recommend to move to flurocarbon tippet as almost invisible in saltwater. Was that a floating or intermediate fly line that was used

Carlton

This is an intermediate line, on a usual day, one would certainly choose a quick sinking line about 450-600grains to take it to depths quickly with the fly. That day was top water action at about 2-5ft below surface, decided to use a intermediate to try out. Landed two bulls that morning.

Great fish on fly..another tick on the list.
It seems to be running out of ground for fly fishing at this side of town.
:(

For those new to fly fishinig, pick up a book or do your research on saltwater fly fishing and read up...this is no rocket science. But once there, you will live in your own world to minic the fly to catch THAT fish you always wanted, and it brings you to understand more of that fish. At the end, you will learn to love it and let the fish fight another day.
Others will view you differently not because of fly fishing, but how fly fishing can change an angler attitude towards fishing. I guess one probably need to get there to experience it. There is not shorter route to this fishing method.

Bob, BTW I don't seem to get the pixel size right..maybe I leave it to you to assist.

Cheers

HI Chua,

you are the man....great stuff. Miss hitting the waters with you in Dxb.

Will buzz you later today. Have a good fishing story to tell you from over the weekend.

Delete the snaps from the forum. I will email you the reduced pics.

Dont have any pics, so didnt want a controversy. Chua knows me quite well & we have fished together a number of times. There is something like taking each other's word for it.

@ keyur , I take your word Buddy :-) Congrats for that nice catch and my Agent 007 [smilie=chongin.gif] even told me that you bravely battled a 25+kg cobia who was more lucky than you that day [smilie=coolup.gif]
better luck next time Mate

Lion, I only assisted. Almost kicked that chap into the water. Ijust held his rod (managed to gain some line for him) while he changed into his shorter shorts to enter the water (fishing off the beach). Also glad to know that the fish is alive to be hooked again.
