Hi Clive
there are trouts in Kalakivala Dam about 15 KM from Nagercoil. But you will need permission from the Forest officer
to fish there. these trouts were introduced there by the British Officers long ago. I don't think fishing is generally allowed.
the place is great to visit too just for fun.....in any case .. I went trekking there about 10+ years ago, was breathtaking.
If you happen to be there just about 8:30 ~ 9:00 there will be an auction of the fish caught there
locally by the fishermen.. I got a whole basket full...:):)
ciao

Hi,
InTamil Nadu there is trout in the Nilgiris and in Kodaikanal. but one is not able to get fishing licences , but illegial fishing goes on if you are willing to take the risk of jail.
In Kerala you could contact the Manging Director of KDHP Munnar for permission if you stay in their bungalows which are for rent.
Regards

Go to jail for sport fishing! Why the delay in our members from south india to take up the matter with the forest & tourism authorities. Let them charge a license fee of Rs.250/rod/day.

When good trout fishing can be developed in the site in question do take up the matter and make things happen.

THANKING YOU IN ANTICIPATION!!! :D
