Dear FF buddies,

Due to paucity of gear for fly fishing, necessity becomes the mother of invention (in this case copy).

Here are the results of a furled leader, made @ home.

Are you on a 4-2-1 connection?

Cheers

Its a 5-3-2, actually same as your 4-2-1, since the last loop on each peg is 1/2.
Something like diving ... 2 and a half twist etc etc.

I actually did a double first on the mono.
Then double up again and have the surgeon knot in the middle of the furled leader, leaving 4 strands on top and two at bottom.

This leaves you the flexibility to join any sized tippet, from 8lb to 20lbs to the furled leader with a perfection knot and interchange at your requirements. which can varies on saltwater conditions depending what you are targetting.

Hey Sam

That cool. They have some cool videos on You Tube on this. I just use a branded loop connector and then attach an 8 or 12 foot leaded that starts with 20 pounds and tapered down to 10 pounds. Even for big fish I prefer the 10 pounds although you tend to have break ups with big emperor fish but perfect for permits and large bream.

Regards
