Picked up a fishermans multitool recently - china made - claiming 33 functions although only a dozen or so seem useful. Along with it came an attachment I cant figure out - I am posting an image of it - can anybody help me ?

At first glance, this would only come handy to take out hooks out of a fishes mouth..

Hook remover did cross my mind ... perhaps it is meant to be one !
It is spring loaded and pretty uncomfortable to use - all 4 inches ot it !!!
I guess it goes into that bottomless drawer for quirky appliances bought but never used.

Hi
Just looked at this post , though I know it is now very old. I have just purchased a fishing tool from the US and its packing describes your pictured tool as being used to tie fishing line. You place the line around the tool and pass one end through the bottom and when pulled fomes a know. Have not actually tried it out myself.
Hope this is useful to you.
Regards
