Hi All,
I'm a newcomer to fishing. Planning to come back to hyderabad. Cerrently live in USA. I'm a avid backpacker and hiker.I would like to backpack remote regions and if possible spend some time in my trekking to fish.
I am looking for equipment for carp, rohu, trout, catfish, mahseer and any other edible fish that I do not know of currently.
I have looked around and lot of people talk about rods ,reels, spinning systems and lures. Can anyone give me a simplified list. I know I am asking for a lot but I am not trying to set records. Just do some fishing
Here is what I have found:
Daiwa minispin system that I can easily backpack with.
People have caught trout up to 6 lbs with this system.
It will be used with a Vanish 4lb line with 1/8 oz lures/1/4 oz lure and an additional spool wound with six lb line for heavier fish.
Sufix Elite monofilament is another choice for line that is pretty cheap.
open reel system:

What additional fly casting bubble or lures can I use for indian fish ? If these lures are not right please let me know.
For a travel pack rod will this do the job. I just want to fish while doing expedition trekking so I can have somehting fun to do while trekking and get some variety in my diet :)
The mahseer fishing on the other hand need not be very light. I am looking for something cost effective.
I need a system for mahseer fishing. Please let me know the most cost effective system that I can get.
