As far as barracuda, the following should do fine:

1. Rod - 8.5' St. Croix Premier Series Surf Rod (PSRC86M2)
2. Reel - An Abu 6500 sized reel with 14 lb mono.

I haven't caught a lot of barracuda, but 1 decent sized one. They are fast after hooking, but less powerfull. Also, from what I have heard from an experienced Barramundi fisherman, the above combo should do fine with Barramundi too.

If you go up a little heavier, you won't have much fun landing a Cuda. This setup might kill the fish after a long fight..... [smilie=huh-ani.gif]

Hi Riaz

If you tell us where you are buying the tackle from we can offer some suggestions. Models available in Europe, Asia and US are different.

Hi
Bopanna
I intend to buy from Indian Anglers on line tackle shop as soon as it gets launched
now just collecting data which could help me in obtaining the best stuff

i have daiwa triforce and daiwa mini banjor rods recently bought one sure catch mini not a very good rod to talk about

reels eta stream master and viking 4000s i had a pioneer sl6000 the gears got worn out in just 2yrs

i guess daiwa rods and reels are best
like to have one good spinning reel a baitcaster and aconvention
with big game rods which can cast long distances
regards
riaz
