Hi Folks just found this on Ebay US. $50 off on a superb Shimano Stradic MGFA reel. Inder take a look. Remember this is not a normal Stradic it retails for $189 on Cabelas.

Mr.B,

Since you solicited responses to this, I may add that for another $75 or so one can get a Shimano Sustain off eBay. The Sustain is in an entirely different league to the Stradic. The marginal return on investment is enormous. The shipping would be the same for both.

Mm

That's a saving of $100.00 to $175.00!

How do these Ebay chaps manage this sort of thing?

Wonder what the Stellas cost on Ebay.

Hey Inder,

I remember you said your budget was $200. You could buy this reel and a shimano stimula or nexave rod and powerpro 20lb braid for $200.

Cheers
Bopanna

FYI, I use a shimano stradic 4000 FA + shimano stimula rod + 20lb Powerpro for murrel and small mahseer.

If you only buy braid you are going to be up the proverbial creek, atleast where the Shivsamudram (WASI) stretch is concerned.

Bops, Cabelas does not carry the Stimula or Nexave range of rods.

For $200, including shipping, the following, IMO, would be the best setup:

Rod: Cabela's Microlite 6'6" (or 7') or Cabela's Wally Marshall 6'6" (or 7') in MH if also fishing for rahu etc, if only maral then ML. $39 each

Reel: Shimano Sahara SH4000FB or Pflueger President 6740X (very smooth, 10bb) $59.95 each

Line: P-Line Spectrex 15lb braid, P-Line Premium 12lb mono, about $8 each

That's $107. Leaves plenty for lures, extra line, beer, and shipping.

I've handled all of the above and I don't think you could better it, for the price.

Mm

Not if you order from Cabelas. They charge 40% of the order value for international shipping.
