Hola! Jefe!

Try tubifex cubes. Caught rohu and eels on them, fished on the bottom.
Tried floating some down to Ramganga mahseer, is, effective, too, but too bloody expensive as groundbait. Dog biscuits good as flavouring ingredient in groundbait for carps.

Cheers,

V.

Hola Macha!
Whats tubifix?
I saw a sack of pet food and on checking it out- had a whole load of protien, calcium, vit etc-probably as much as offal can have?
thought I could soak overnite and use either as hook bait or ground bait...Any inputs?

Tubifex is Freeze-dried worms that is used as fish food in Aquariums.. the fish gobble it in a few minutes... It costs around Rs.35 for a jar - 12g (Bangalore)

Cheers,
Alexis

Hey! I use a tin of good dog food as ground bait for catfish (mulley) effectively. Chicken with oil, not the dry type. All you have to do is punch a lot of holes in the tin and toss it into your peg. Wait an hour or so and start. The oil slick seems to draw them in from far. As hook bait nothing beats chicken liver or innards.
Do the same with a tin of sweetcorn for carp. As bait try and knead atta with the syrup from the sweetcorn tin or use the corn on a hair rig.
Best of luck.
