Bought a couple of these waxwings in a golden colour and in a blue
Sardine type finish.

I have tried them out in calm waters just to get familiar with using them
and it is quite easy.

You have to point the rod at the lure and reel in without imparting any
action, the lure has an inbuilt slow sway with an occasional kick to the side.

I must say that I have had no luck as yet but it is not the lures' fault.

I need to use it more often.

Kingfish

Well i dont think the Daiwa is available here, i will check and let you know.

I bought the Waxwing for AED 80.00, pretty expensive if you ask me, i bought it for the novelty, but i dont use it much. I want to try it for the Dorados coming season. Dont want to throw it at barracudas, they will shred the plastic panes.

waxwings work well for fish like barracudas , spanish macks, wahoos .. ie the razor gang.. speed demons ( also think they would be good for rawas and geets..)... a med fast to fast retrieve in open waters.. you'll be wasting time and lures if you try them in saggy areas.. and for our coastal inshore species like barras , mjs..

No one will buy a rod just because its recommended by the lure manufacturer. A quality graphite spinning rod rated upto 2 1/2 oz and which can handle King macs / dorados is more than good enough.

I have no experience with fresh water angling to comment on Mahseer.
