LOL

It al started with me surfing the net on ebay and looking out for deals on lures . Wifey was tryign to sleep in bed but the laptop monitor was disturbing her .. Asked me what I was doing and I said ... just surfing some sites to check out the lures .

She gave me a look and turned around and went to sleep

Was reading the paper this morning on my terrace and the wife seemed pretty quiet .

So i take a walk inside after an hour or so and this is what she had done .. No tantrums , no words ,, no arguments ...just one look in my direction and I lost the battle and the war

After I went back outside she tells me that she opened my tackle box and wanted to lay that out too but she got scared at the number of lures there and teh hooks were bare but she didnt want to takwe a chance ... but she warned me that any more lures ordered would make her do that.. LOL

Guys ... word of advice ... never ,, never shop with wife around .... and buy some hook bonnets ... you never know when yur lures could be in the bed you sleep in .......

Some pics

Two can play at the same game.

Take out her jewellery and spread it out on the bedsheet.

Then, place the purchase receipts for her jewellery and your receipts for the lures adjacent to each other.

Always works.

Well!! Thanks for pointing a very important issue infact, its a universal problem, and it is unresolved-able, so we should not try to waste our time and brain in logics and philosophical arguments, they will never listen. 8)

I have a well defined procedure for this issue, and I’m following it since the day I felt a resistance against my tackle. Its simple and efficient, and I guess lots of my friends are following it. i.e. :-)
Order for tackle on websites/shops from your office, Shipping/Billing address should always be your office address, Hide your invoices/bills/tax-duty receipts from your wife, Buy an almari with a lock for your tackle and obviously it should not be in your bed room (not even a room close to urs) , Don’t take the carton u received from tackle shop to home, use a bag, shopper or laptop bag(the best) for transport. Rods are the most difficult item to transport; If u have a dicky in your car then it is a good place to hide it until u got the chance to move it to your destination.

Happy fishing :-)

Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many lures you guys have?///
How many of them have you used so far...... or......rather how many of them you have not used so far??????
I wanted to "show off" my few cents worth lures. But they are mostly cycle pedal rubbers, hair brush handles, few cutlery parts and home made spinners.

Ravi

The ones in the boxes have not been used, rest all have been in the water. Apart from the rubber shads, most of them have been with fish. Some have taken so many that on Fred's advice they have been retired.

Its just wonderful having a tackle box full of variety of lures,i have kept my inventory rather simple cause when you are not getting strikes you spend considerable time changing lures.I rather go with just four proven lures and work them in a variety of retrieving speeds.I have a soft corner for the soft body variety...Shads(No not the sex dolls perverts :)......) With those they tend to work well on a variety of fish species. Most of us have a whole lot of gear that hasnt seen the sea so i have decided that unless i break ,lose or get robbed no more tackle coming home.

A lure for the fish and wine/dinner for the wife -

Everytime I go out buying lures ... I also ensure that I take the wife out for dinner too so I can break the news to her over some nice wine ... this way she's just too happy to care :D
